I sit here
in the dark cafe,
lit up only
by the sunshine
from outside.
The smell of sugar
and tea tickles
my nose as I
see a young
lad attempting to
devour an ice cream.
I remember the
day the dolphins
put on a show
for us across the road,
nature’s performer.
I can feel the warmth
from the sandy beach
touch my skin as
the bell on the cafe
door sounds.
